5 Signs It’s Time for a Website Makeover: Is Your Online Presence Outdated?

Contrary to popular opinion, websites aren’t designed to stay the same forever. The average website should be revamped every 2-3 years to optimize your online presence.
However, there are ways to tell if your website needs to be modified before then. Use our website makeover guide to decide if it’s time for a change!
1. Traffic Is Low
High website traffic is when more people are visiting your site. This leads to higher search rankings, more potential customer leads, and eventually an increase in customers. If your traffic is down, fewer people are visiting the site. If you’ve taken steps to boost your website’s traffic but people still aren’t visiting the site, it might be time for some updates.
2. It’s Not Mobile-Friendly
When you initially created your website, mobile compatibility may not have been a priority, which means that potential customers might not be able to access everything on your website from their phones. If that’s the case, it’s time to make some changes to your online presence.
More and more often, people are using their phones as their main connection to Google and other internet search providers, so if your website is lacking mobile capabilities, it can significantly lower your ability to reach potential customers.
3. Slow Loading Speeds
The ideal time for a website to load is between 0-2 seconds, but anything less than 3 seconds is acceptable. If it takes any longer than that, you’re losing website traffic. People are impatient and will not wait for your website to load. If they can get your services on another website that loads more quickly, they will. That’s how important it is to keep your website speed fast and its content up-to-date.
4. Low Search Rankings
If your website isn’t showing up toward the top of Google’s search results, your website needs to be fixed to utilize current SEO strategies. This includes using keywords, keeping content easy to read, and using title tags. Although these are just a few ways to improve SEO, they are all important and should be implemented in updating your online presence.
5. Rebranding
Maybe it’s time for complete rebranding? If you’re changing everything about your look and brand offline, it’s time to translate those changes to your online presence. Your brand should be consistent across all platforms, so a rebrand should always include a website makeover.
Whether your website is only a few years old, or it’s been here since dinosaurs were roaming the earth, if any of these signs ring true, it might be time to consider updating your website. A positive online presence is important for every business and organization, no matter their industry or size!
