You’re getting a good amount of customers who seem to enjoy your services or products, some even tell you they appreciate your business. However, the reviews section on your website has little to no interaction, and those who chose to review didn’t have a 5-star experience.

So, what’s the secret to building a 5-star reputation? And how do you get people to take the time to share their experiences online?

Be Searchable

If customers can’t find you on popular review sites like Facebook, Google, or Yelp they won’t leave you that coveted 5-star review.

Ensure your website is readily available for customers to find by sharing links to relevant review sites. If you’re unsure, have friends and family look your company up on one of these sites and leave a review themselves.

Share Your 5-Star Reviews

It may sound like bragging, but it’s actually helpful to share positive reviews on your social media channels when you want to gain similar positive notoriety.

When people who enjoyed their experience see positive reviews on your website or social media, they are more likely to share their positive experience too.

Sharing these reviews can help make customers aware of the different reviewing platforms and the fact that they can provide their personal feedback too.

Respond To Negative Reviews

It’s easy to want to focus on the good things people say, but it’s important to respond to both positive and negative reviews. This shows customers that you care about them and their experience with your company.

Plus, you may even win customers back over when they see how much you care and want to resolve their issue. People want to be noticed, and a good way to do this is by responding to them through their reviews.

Just Ask

If you have a positive interaction with a customer, ask if they would consider leaving a review. This may feel awkward at first, but most people don’t mind being asked, and they typically will leave a review if you ask.

Also, requesting a review directly from your customers gives you another chance to interact with them even more.

And, if they didn’t have a positive experience, they may be able to tell you first-hand so you can resolve the problem rather than wait for them to post about it online.

Make It Simple

The more complicated you make the review process, the less likely you are to have a good amount of reviews.

Directing a customer’s attention to a QR code during their checkout process that brings up a review platform is a great way to do this.

This way, the review site is readily available for customers and they only need to take a few seconds to leave their feedback.

You can also send a link to a review site directly to their email post-purchase. This makes it simple for customers to take the time to leave that 5-star review since the platform is readily available.

Then, customers are also reminded of the experience they had and can write their reviews on their own time.
